A week in review....

While downloading some pics for today's week in review I found these pictures the boys took the last week of summer vacation. A group of neighborhood boys made a "skate park" and had quite the time. I love seeing pictures that the kids take...they have a different perspective than us grownups.
Yesterday June received her first laptop from her Great Aunt. MT knows that June is always trying to get at my computer and thought June needed her own. June loves it and has been carrying it around with her.
Last night at dinner June enjoyed corn on the cob...she has had it off the cob, but got a good laugh chewing it right of the cob. While I am on June I will keep going. My favorite new word this week was "tookie", ie cookie. She would ask for a "tookie" and then throw it at the dog as she yelled, "BANDIT"! Needless to say I caught on quick. She also put on a show at church this morning. For the past few weeks I have not been able to make it through Mass without going to the crying room, however, today we made it. Although she was busy, to say the least, she tried to sing the songs and said "A-main" at the correct times. After Communion she put out her hand and gave all the parishioners a "high-five" as they walked past our pew. I really enjoy seeing all the new things she does each day.
The boys are settling into the school year routine and seem to be happy with their teachers. Sports keep moving right along, although our schedule is busy it is manageable. I am grateful to have friends that are willing to car pool and help out, very grateful:)

Are you ready for some football?

We had a perfect day for football! My parents came out for the day to watch the boys play ball, both teams won....way to play ball. We spent the afternoon relaxing at home and cooking out. Every one had a nice day, including Miss June.

Sprinkler time......

Our yard is in need of water(as you can tell from the color of our grass)! June decided she too was in need of water and had a little play time in the sprinkler.

A week in review.....

We had a good week. It was the first week back to school for the boys and they all seem happy with their teachers. It is a push year for all three of the boys, which may mean a little more work for everyone. TJ is in accelerated classes, cross country, soccer, band, and religious education, his schedule is going to be challenging(if not for him for me). The other boys have football and religious education. Jake has chosen not to join band so he has ample time to do homework. More than anything juggling the boys schedule, Russ's travel schedule, my work schedule, and a toddler is going to push me to the limit.

Sports went well this weekend. We had our first home football games and they were a blast...music, cheerleaders, grilled burgers, and a concession stand all for our community football. I think the season will be fun. Soccer went well for TJ. He is in a new league this year and it seems to be a good fit for him. June was a good tag-a-long and held her own for this busy weekend.

The garden is a mess! We worked on weeding and picking what veggies we could. This has not been a banner year for the garden. Taking care of a toddler has definitely decreased my garden time. However, June loves the garden! Today while Russ was weeding June strolled around picking tomatoes and eating what she could. She had hand fulls of small golden tomatoes and would eat them as she walked around the garden....perhaps she will be a farmer! If we could only teach her to weed.

Bike riding baby.............

Russ has been taking June for bike rides and she loves them! When Russ asked her if she wanted to go for a bike ride today she ran to the garage. After Russ took out the carrier she climbed in, waited for her helmet, and off they went.

The tournament........

Russ brought the Nikon with him today and got some great shots. This is the first time we have used it at a sporting event. Hopefully next week we can get some football shots. TJ's team has had only 3 practices together, they tied one of their games but lost the other two.

A week in review.............

Each week I am reminded of how much I age each week, mostly because I have a harder time each Sunday trying to remember what happened the previous week. That being said, as usual we had a busy week. Full of football, friends, and back to school prep. Did I mention the boys go back Tuesday?
I decided to school supply shop by myself...good idea. I started at Staples, then Wal-Mart. I completely filled a cart at Wal-Mart but could not fit my regular household necessities. I decided to load the car, go back to Staples for the items Wal-Mart was out of and then back to Wal-Mart for the basics. Had all the boys come with, there would have been two carts, a lot of complaining, and no where for June to sit. I will be glad to get all of the school supplies back to school. Did I mention the boys go back Tuesday?
As you can read below our first football weekend went well. TJ starts soccer this week and has a tournament this coming weekend. After school is going to be a challenge for a few months. Every week day at five 1-3 of the boys needs to be at practice, wish me luck!
June continues to keep us hopping! She is proficient at climbing anything, and I do mean anything! She likes to swim and loves being outside. She is very independent and might I say, stubborn? However, despite her independent nature she is sweet, funny, and lights up our days. I am looking forward to the boys going to school so we can work on "please"....with three older brothers, one whine and a finger point gets her anything her heart desires.....I have some work ahead of me! We did pass a milestone this weekend. We had our one year post placement appointment with our social worker. She will write her final report to send to China. She will also write a court report to help finalize our re adoption for the state. It is hard to believe we have almost been home for a year!

Let the games begin.....

Today was the start of the football season. Max had his 1st game and Jake had a scrimmage. As it usually goes, we had to split up to get everyone where they needed to be. I met Russ at Max's game and then Russ took Jake to his scrimmage. As I had said earlier this is our first football season....I can not tell you how cute those kids look on the field all in uniform, it is really something to see.(next week I will bring my camera!)

Max is a defensive tackle and he had a great game. He had one tackle and a group tackle. He had such a good time he said he wanted to play next year too! His team won, way to go Max!
Jake's scrimmage went well also. Jake played both offensive and defensive end. He had two tackles and a forced fumble. Looks like we are off to a good start!

Milk and cookies................

Today, after her nap, June and I enjoyed some milk and cookies on the deck. As you can tell from the pictures she liked them!
