Le Claire

Today was a great day. Today is my Birthday. I was able to celebrate the day with family in Iowa. Some of you might think Iowa, what is in Iowa.....more than you know, here is what we did today.

We visited Le Claire, Iowa on the Mississippi.

We strolled the charming streets...

I took pictures...no surprise.

We tasted wine from a local winery...all of the choices were enjoyable. You can visit them at Wide River Winery. I loved the Merry Berry for the holidays.

We strolled some more.

We shopped. Penny is a friend of my mother-in-laws and her store is so beautiful. Big June and I bought some Christmas decor. Yes Big June...we actually have two June's in our family (two Ken's too).

Russ was a great sport to do what I wanted and to let me take a shot or two of him on my Birthday....Thanks Russ!

We met a local celebrity. Thanks to Mike from American Pickers for being so gracious and friendly.

We strolled some more..

Finally we ended the trip with a taste of whiskey from Mississippi River Distilling Company.

We all had a lovely day and are back home. Some of us are napping, some swimming, and I am blogging. We are getting ready for some taco pizza from Happy Joe's.....YUM, I can't wait.
