I am 41 and had never been to our captial. I actually never really thought much about it, that is until I was in Tienenman Square. As I watched all of the people beam with pride for their country, I began to think about ours. I am so greatful that I was able to visit Washington D.C. and that the kids were able to see it too. I did not know exactly what to expect and my emotions took me by suprise. As we exited the HOV (express lanes to you and me) and began our journey into the city I was overwhelmed and humbled by the view of the Mall and tidal basin....here is what we saw.
{The Jefferson Memorial}
{The Washington Monument}
{FDR Memorial}
{The Lincoln Memorial}
We truly live in an amazing country and owe a debt of graditude to all those who serve our Nation so that we may be free. May God bless America....
The "and" that I included in the title of this post is for all the people shots I took last week. Let me say they are not the best....trying to photograph 13 people 9 of them children was nothing less than a challenge:) TJ did managed to get a shot of Russ and I. I can't actually remember the last time we had our picture taken together since I am always behind the lens. These pictures are in no particular order....enjoy.
You can see more of my shots from Washington D.C. HERE and HERE. I still have more...make sure you stop back. Thanks for visiting us here at June Makes Six.

looks like a fun vacation! I LOVE that last photo (so cute) and I those feet are cute too. :)
More great ones! I especially love the 2nd and 3rd shots of the Washington Memorial....and the way the Cherry Blossoms frame the photo. Lovely!
These are beautiful photos! This brings back memories of our visit to the US many years ago, but we did not see DC with all the Cherry Blossoms in bloom - they are just lovely!
Rachel.
Beautiful! I love your header, your background music, and your photography. I live outside of D.C. and we are just loving the cherry blossoms. I really like the way you framed all of the monument and sculpture photos. Great job!
These are amazing! I love the picture of you and your hubby :)
That one of the dogwoods with the building peaking out from behind is awesome :)
