This past weekend we took a quick trip to a local orchard. For years we have made a day of going to the apple orchard, however, the past two years we have had a hard time fitting it in to our crazy schedule. (That's a whole story I won't bore you with!) This year in bewteen soccer games we decided to try a local orchard, literally 5 minutes from our house. Well, it was not the perfect orchard experience....apples too high for the girls to pick, LOTS of people, only a few rows to pick from, and not a great photo shoot experience. It was not a total wash however, the girls had a good time and the apples were delicous.
I did manage to squeak out a few good shots. For those of you who follow me on instagram you have seen the shot below. I decided to have the girls go into a "no pick" row for a shot and as you can see June was not at all interested in having her picture taken...I think it is my favorite shot from the day!
What I failed to mention on IG is that as soon as we took this picture we headed to the car and the skies opened up with a heavy, heavy, rain. So I guess at the end of the day we could give our overall experience a thumbs up...apples, pictures, girls had a good time, close to home, and we stayed dry. Besides, there is always next year!

How fun! It looks like such a perfect orchard!
Love fall! Sad we didn't get an orchard photos this year, but we have been so busy and now it is too late here in Georgia as the season really is at the end of August for the best apples.
Our only apple picking area is almost an hour away and is not a photographers dream like some of the others I see. The apples are always great and the hot apple doughnuts are even better :)
Love the pout!
