Summer is drawing to a close and I am okay with it....as far as Summer goes it was just okay. It was not a super relaxing or special, it just was, and I am happy to get back to school and put a little bit of structure back into our life. That being said, we usually head to the city for one last escape before school starts. We all look forward to this outing, sadly, however, TJ had to work and could not join us this year:( We have, however, promised him another day during the Fall! So here is our day in photos, hope you feel like you were spending the day with us.
We usually start at my Aunt's, she has a beautiful view both North and South down Lake Shore Drive, this shot is looking North. We enjoyed a visit and a light lunch and then headed on our way.
It was a perfect day, sunny, warm, light breeze, and no humidity, just perfect. We walked through the park towards Lincoln Park Zoo.
Here are the peeps.....no on was really interested in pictures. Even June shied away from the camera, lucky for me I caught just one of her later in the day.
After a walk through the zoo we headed to the Lincoln Park Conservatory. The grounds are beautiful inside and out.
On our way back out a lucky bride was having her wedding photos in the garden. It was a perfect day for a wedding.
We headed North towards Old Town. The girls let me grab a few shots and then it was on to one of my very favorite places.
A New Leaf. If you have visited before you have seen some of our visits to this amazing place. Flowers, plants, accessories, and a beautiful garden and reception area. In fact while we milled around they were setting up for an afternoon wedding.
I just love that place! We were on the road again and continued North on Wells to another of our favorite shops.
We went home with one of these Myrtles...last year too!
Finally, the boys were on their way to food! We eat at the same place every year (we are big into tradition).
We enjoyed an early dinner at Orso's, don't worry about TJ, we brought him a special order to enjoy after work.
The End! Hope you enjoyed our day.
