Party time..."Rainbow Party"

Well, the party was a success.  It was the perfect end to a long Birthday Week.  You can tell by the girls faces that they were excited while we finished up our party prep.  June and Kendall did a lot of running around in rainbow tutus waiting for the party to start.

While we were waiting, we gave the photo booth a test run.  I was not sure if the kids would be interested in the photo booth, but they were...even the boys.  All the kids wanted their pictures taken.  My job this week is to touch up pictures and e-mail them to the kiddos.  We had lots of silly faces and group shots!

Our set up was simple, lots of colors!  Colored paper, colored plates, water bottle wrappers, you get the idea.

Our party was two hours and we had just enough time to finish all of the activities and eat cake.  The candy bar was a BIG hit.  Instead of making goody bags to hand out, one of our activities was to make your own goody bag.  In addition to the candy I had small bags with pencils, bubbles, crayons, and tattoos.  The kids were able to fill their bags. Russ scooped  ladles of gumballs into each bag...the kiddos loved this.

Here are the girls and some candy excitement.  I was not kidding last week when I said I was sugaring them up and sending them home.

June has a class of only 14.  We had 11 kids plus Kendall.  I was worried about keeping them busy, but it went well.  We had a movie running in the back ground, a coloring, station, a craft station, a tattoo stations, a ping pong game (we used the photo booth as a hoop),  a pinata, the candy bar, the photo booth, and of course cake!

Luckily with St. Patty's day right around the corner, there were lots of "rainbow" choices.  This crafts was fun and easy....shamrock rainbow scratch art!  The kids were able to take home all of their creations in their goody bags.

Finally, it was cake time.  The cake turned out great...it was really pretty and exactly what June wanted. (I will have a whole cake post later this week).

Happy Birthday to June!  I think she had a great 6th Birthday.
