Lucky Day

Well, it is Spring Break this week and we are enjoying a "staycation". We headed downtown on Monday and had lunch at a restaurant we have been wanting to try out for a couple of years. Do any of you watch The Travel Channel? We saw this place on "Man vs. Food" and have wanted to visit ever since. We finally made it and it was worth the wait! It was our "Lucky" Day.

Of course no one wanted to participate in picture taking. I did, of course, remind them repeatedly they would be happy to look back on these pictures some day and think of family fun time. You can tell by their expressions they were not buying that story.

The sandwiches at "Lucky's" are loaded....fries and slaw on the sandwich. Being a fan of "The Godfather" I ordered the Fredo as did Max and Russ.

Kendall enjoyed her lemonade.

Finally the sandwiches (B&W did not do them justice). They were really, really big. The boys now have a new favorite and have already asked when we are going back.

I know TJ is gonna love me for this one:)

Then it was on to Navy Pier to kick around. You would never know by the sunshine and the sky that it was cold and windy. They don't call it the Windy City for nothing! Actually do you know why it is called the Windy City. According to Wikipedia there are three reasons: the weather, The World's Fair, and the rivalry between Chicago and Cincinnati.

Here are a few more shots of the people. Like I said, no one wanted their pictures taken, I snapped these just to prove we did fun family stuff when they were young!

We did have a "thumbs up" day, it was a nice break from our regular routine. Hope you are having a great week.

First, I have to say your pictures are great and I love them all. Second, I have to tell you that I'm laughing at the thought of you telling your family that they're going to thank you for these pictures one day...it appears they're not buying that line of thought. I wish you lived by me, then we could take pictures together :)

According to the Huffington Post, your great city is *windy* because of the hot air bellowing from politicians. Not to say anything negative about our President, but where is he from? Just sayin'.

BTW....pics are awesome. As always.

I love that you took the whole family out for a day. We don't seem to ever do that anymore. Unless its on vacation. Good idea to make an outing even when you stay home. Guess what? We aren't closing tomorrow. More drama. It's never going to end....

This looks like an amazing day.
Yes, I agree, photos are required!
You certainly have a talent for B&W;
these are excellent.

LOVE!!!! We do watch that show & remember that exact place! HOW FUN!!! I have to say, it's not often that the boys make an appearance on the blog so it's so nice to see you all out as a family doing these fun things. What a great outing Tiffany!!! Gosh we would have so much fun together if we lived closer.

That looks fun! Plus I love the food ...I just really love food.

I always love your shots, but even though they are really simple i love your skyline shots. They are just exposed perfectly. I tend to blow my sky a lot.

I'm not trying to plug my self or anything I just thought it was so neat. I have an image very similar to your light house one.
