Getting the "shot"

This is one of my favorite shots, I took it shortly after I purchased my camera, it was shot on Auto and I love this picture! I thought I would try to recreate this shot with baby number 5, but not quite. When I first started taking group pictures of my kids years ago, before I fell in love with photograpy, I thought each picture had to have everyone looking right at the camera, with just the right smile and just the right expression. In fact back when we lived down South, I took 8 rolls of film just to get one Christmas card shot of the boys in a cotton field....thank goodness for digital! As I have aged and spent many hours trying to get the "perfect" picture, my opinion has changed. Don't get me wrong, I still like that just right Christmas card picture, but I appreciate the goofy smiles, the twisted bodies, and the realization that sometimes you just can't get "the shot".

The two below are the closest I could get to everyone looking at the camera!

The hard thing for me is that as I said, I have fallen in love with photograpy. I would love to someday be able to take pictures for other families and capture just a piece of their daily lives as a memory for them to have......not being able to get everyone to look at the camera will not get me very far:)
Changing subjects....we spent a lovely day with my Aunt this past Saturday. We went to the zoo and walked around Old Towne. The baby was a trooper, not a peep out of her. We all had a great time and I have lots of pictures to edit, but here is a little sneek peek for you Aunt B. until I can get the rest ready to go. Thanks for the great day!

Someday perhaps I will get back to my "week in review" posts, but for now this will have to do on a Sunday night after a long day at work. Also, there are more cabin shots in my GALLERY.
