A week in review

The first week of the New Year, 2010. It is bound to be an exciting year for us. I am beginning to anticipate the baby with excitement. Today, TJ asked June what she wanted to name the baby and she said, "Baby Jesus". Can you tell what we have been reading and talking about....to June, Jesus follows baby. Although, Jesus, is not on our name list it is a Beautiful name.

We continued our travels this week and went to visit my brother and his family in the frozen tundra. It was our first visit to their home since they moved a little over a year and a half ago and we were long overdue for a visit. We only stayed for a day or so but had a great time. We celebrated Christmas, went sight seeing, and enjoyed watching the kids play together. Below are some of the highlights. The boys received an awesome gift.....we call the basement "The Man Cave" because that is where all their stuff is and they spend 90% of their time down there. My sister-in-law found a "Man Cave" sign that will be displayed proudly when we are finished with the basement this Spring.....hopefully before the baby comes:)

It was also a big week for June. We took down the crib and put together her Big Girl bed. She loves it! I have waited a long time to put this bedding out, (I ordered it while we were waiting for our referral), however, I was kind of sad to see the crib go. June is growing up so fast and it is bitter sweet. Of course I am glad she is learning and growing just like she is supposed to, but something about a two year old is so sweet. I will be sad to see this stage go. Also, have the older boys I know how fleeting each stage is, it all goes by so fast. One thing I have enjoyed with June is that I have actually enjoyed each stage. When the boys were little and so close together I always felt like I was in survival mode and I did not enjoy them as much as I should have. I think being older has given me a different perspective and I look forward to enjoying the new baby too!

New Year's Day we spent working around the house, later that evening we went to a neighbor's house for an annual New Year's Day party. We live in a small town and many friends and acquaintances are there. Everyone brings a dish, the kids run around, and the adults visit, play games, and watch football. All the makings of a great evening.
The rest of the weekend was filled with work, taking down Christmas decorations, and tonight, looking for brown velour leggings. Have you ever lost something you know you just had? Today in between taking down Christmas and making dinner I did June's laundry. I am almost positive I put a pair of brown velour leggings in the washing machine and they never came out. If they did, I can not find them anywhere! I have gone through the laundry room with a fine tooth comb (while doing that I found a cooler bag we lost this fall), I have been through our laundry, suitcases, snow gear, and I can't find them anywhere. I even called my sister-in-law to see if maybe I was hallucinating and left them at her house. UGH!!! Where could they be. My fear is I will find them next year somehow packed away with all the Christmas decorations, at least I will have them for girl#2!
Our weeks will be full of sports again, basketball and soccer start again this week. It is back to school on Tuesday and back into a routine and schedule. Russ also goes back to work tomorrow, it was nice having him around for a couple of weeks.
Have a great week!
