June rocks....

I hope this video is enjoyed! I spent a lot of time getting it to you. I recorded the original horizontal and could not rotate it like a regular photo. Lucky for me my computer has a media program....I learned to rotate video and create a "movie" all to bring Little Miss June to the Blogger screen.

Big day in sports............

Despite the rain in the Windy City...the Cubs open today, go Cubs.

The official torch relay began today in Beijing when the president of China lit the Olympic torch in Tienanmen Square.

The end of a long week....

Posted by Picasa
Well, as you can see above, June is as cute as ever! Just being with her makes all of us feel happy, which is good because as my title says, it has been a long week. The boys were out of school for spring break, so my job was to keep them busy....slot car racing, shopping, movie time, friends, and bowling. Bowling is what made our week long. I have gone back and forth about whether or not to blog about our bowling experience and decided to give the short version since I can not get it off my mind. That being said I will start....the boys were bowling and having a good time, June was enjoying the music videos and watching the boys bowl(black light, rock and roll bowling). June got upset when I set her down. The rest is now history that the boys and I would like to forget forever. June held her breath until she passed out and was unconscious. A 911 call followed and a whole bowling alley was turned inside out in a matter of minutes. We think the episode lasted 1-2 minutes and I can truly say that they were the 2 most terrifying minutes of my life. It turns out that there is a condition known as BHS(breath holding spells) that affects a fair percentage of children. The condition usually goes away between ages 3-5. We now have multiple Dr.'s appointments to make sure there are no other problems, however, the Dr.'s we have spoken with say she has typical BHS. June is not affected at all by the BHS and most episodes are not nearly as severe as our last. Hopefully we will not experience one again. So now we move on. I am so grateful that June is part of our lives, the boys love her so much, she has completed our family.

Command center....

When I was younger things like spring break, field day, and field trips at school used to get me excited. Now, it is a new washer and dryer! This is my laundry room, or, command center, as I call it. With a family of six I spend a lot of time in the laundry room. My laundry room has been freshly painted and now holds the front load Duet. I no longer have to run the dryer for three hours to dry a load of towels, yeah! During the last few crazy, yet exciting, weeks of remodeling the laundry room has brought me great joy in a rather dusty unorganized home. Also, it is spring break here for my kids which means even more laundry than usual.

June's first photo shoot......

June had her first professional pictures taken on Saturday. The pictures above were taken by me, however, the cute Gap top was what she wore for her session. Shoot the Moon photography came to the house and took pictures of June and the boys. We will have proofs soon, I can't wait to see how they turn out!

Callie-cat!

Jake thought that Callie-cat was looking quite soft and cute on his bed. After photographing her he told me he thought she needed to be on the blog, so here she is!

Lunch date.....

"I cannot wait to see Nana and Nannie!"

"Nana, how is your lunch?"

Today June and I had a lunch date with my mother and grandmother, that of course would be June's grandmother and great grandmother. Panera was the restaurant of choice because June loves their chicken noodle soup, what's not to love?

Over the river and through the woods.....

June enjoys a movie on the way to Grammie and Grandpa's.

Max and his cousin play checkers in a fort made for two!

Brothers and Babies.

Cousins (minus one), miss you L.

June plays dress up!

We spent the weekend with Russ's family and we had a great time. It is so much fun to get the cousins together and see how every one has grown and changed. It was fun to watch June with all the kids, she really enjoyed herself. As you can see she had fun playing dress up with princess paraphernalia....she went right to it, unprompted. It really amazes me the differences between boys and girls. When the boys were little I said, "No guns!". Well much to my disappointment and surprise everything can become a gun, sticks, Lego's, fingers, pillows, etc. While I did not ban magic wands, June went right for the girl toys. With a little help from her brothers the wings went on and she walked around for quite some time with wings, wand, and tiara. She makes the best fairy princess ever!

June acts her age.....

I know they call the "2s" terrible, but I beg to differ, I think it is "1". At "1" there is no fear or concern about your actions....just pure self indulgence. June and I went shopping today, Kohls and Wal-mart, that girl could wiggle out of a cart strap no matter how tight I got it. Then when we got home she did the same thing to her high chair. While at Wal-mart she made a game of taking off her shoes and socks and dropping them periodically through out the store. June was indeed a very busy girl today, busy and cute. After playing in Bandit's water while I did the laundry, I stripped her down to her onsie because she was wet to her shoulder, once free she felt happy to dancie-dance to "YO GABBA GABBA"(especially sweet). Needless to say she was ready for bed tonight. Sleep tight June-bug.

Spastic......

Let me start by saying I do not know if I spelled spastic(or anything else on this blog)correctly because my spell check does not always work....So tonight I am getting 3 of the 4 kids ready for bed when a get a phone call from my friend C. "Where are you, you are not normally this late?" I said, "What do you mean?" C, "BUNCO!" I totally spaced BUNCO, which I do not normally do. Even more disturbing is the fact that as I dropped the boys off at Religious Education today I realized I forgot about Jake's indoor soccer game Monday. I would like to say I have some excuse....lack of sleep, 4 kids, remodel, a cat, a dog, and a husband, oh, wait, I do.

May the force be with you....

For those of you who are "Star Wars" fans you may remember Yoda fighting Count Duku...does June bear any resemblance?

Summer is in the air.....

Summer is in the air....the DMB Summer Tour dates were released today! The thought of Alpine Valley on a hot August night with my wonderful husband and Dave, (and thousands of other fans) gets me in the mood for summer! Thanks Dave!

Birthday Photoshoot......

June and I had a lot of fun taking pictures in her birtday dress. I am not a great photographer but we got some cute shots!

June.....Now and then..............

Happy Birthday June!!! Today June turns one....we have had an amazing six months with June, with each day she grows more loving and sweet. She has changed a lot in the past months. She is walking, talking, mimicing our actions, and providing much entertainment. You have no idea what your journey is going to be like when you add a child to your family, ours has been one of joy and happiness. June is a true blessing, not only to Russ and I, but also to the boys. The boys love her whole heartedly and have accepted her into their hearts as if she has always been with us.

6 month post placement.....

Friday afternoon we had our 6 month post placement appointment with our social worker. Our social worker collected photos and information from our first 6 months home with June. ( I can't believe we have been home for 6 months!) All the info will be sent to GWCA and then on to China. It was agreed that June is doing great, meeting all her milestones and definitely not suffering from any form of attachment disorder. Our next post placement is at 12 months. Also, stay tuned, tomorrow June turns 1!!!
