Sweet Mama and the science fair......

Deep thinking.....
For those of you who have been following us for a while you know about "Max's questions", at one time he even had his own side bar element. Well last night Max asked me a question I need some help with. Here it is....
"Mom, if it the end of time and the earth is covered with water, what happens to the water if a giant meteor hits the earth?"
Well, I really did not have a good answer....anyone want to give it a try?

A week in review......
June also worked on her table manners this weekend, she is getting really good at eating her dinner with her feet! Just kidding:) However, she does like to put her feet on the table while she is eating and like any good brother would, TJ took the opportunity to put a fork in between June's toes. Everyone had a good laugh, especially June....glad the camera was handy. June is also talking more (about food). Saturday for breakfast Russ made pancakes, while June watched she said, "Pancakes, I like pancakes!". We all looked at her in amazement and made sure she had the first plateful!
In addition to all the extras this week the boys had all their activities and I played "bunco" on Wednesday and visited with friends on Thursday...it was a full week for all of us. Did I mention I won at "bunco", well I did. I fear my friends might kick me out I have won at least one prize every month this year, some months two prizes, can't wait to see what happens next month! Hope everyone has a great week....we are looking forward to 80 degrees here on Friday....I hope the weather woman is correct....happy day!

Cleaning the basement....

What do these sweet faces have to do with cleaning the basement? Well.....I had a whole shelve of frames from all of the houses we have lived in before this one (what can I say, we are pack rats)and these pictures came out of the frames we are donating. I can't believe all my babies are growing so fast....I remember each of those photo shoots! As for the basement we have a lot of work ahead of us. It is hard to imagine why we saved half of the stuff we did.....17 happy years of junk.....hopefully it won't happen again:)

Up close Easter Favorites

A Week in Review......
Well, a long week ended with a long evening. Sweet June has been out of sorts for a week or so and I think all of the activities of the week, not to mention the candy from the Easter Bunny caught up with her this evening. We have had breath holding, crying, vomiting, carpet cleaning, laundering, more crying, and rocking filling up our evening.....I am happy to say my sweet baby is finally asleep. Usually June is happy and easy going, strong willed, but happy. However, the last week and a half she has been a bit irritable and out of sorts.....I am suspecting the two year old molars. Unfortunately, June will not let me take a peek in her mouth to see if that is the case. I imagine, I will get a glance one day and they will all be there! My hope is that once all the teeth are in there will be no more breath holding....we can only hope!
TJ is keeping us busy with sports. He had two track meets and has started soccer practice. He participated in both track and field events. He ran the hundred meter, the 4 by 2, the 4 by 1, discus, and long jump which he won for his grade level. No doubt he is keeping busy. The other boys are enjoying their freedom with no sports for the Spring season. Max will play football next fall and Jake will run cross country in Middle School, yes, Middle School......two of my baby's will be in Middle School, I can't believe it!
The main part of our week focused around Holy Week. We attended Mass on Thursday and Friday in preparation for this special day. Today we celebrated Easter Mass and spent the day with family. I hope all of you had a blessed Easter and a great week.
Pictures tomorrow....I hope, the boys do not have school and someone thought it would be a good idea to go to the orthodontist at 9:00 AM....UGH!!!

Seven is the magic number.....
My friend and fellow blogger, Michelle, tagged me a few weeks back and I did not answer. Caroline, another fellow blogger answered the tag and put the challenge back on the table.....so feeling the pressure, here it goes:)
1. I am looking forward to turning 40 in November.
2. My favorite candy is the "Resse's peanut butter egg".
3. Pink, is, will be, and always has been my favorite color.
4. Although four kids pushes me to my limits most days, I would adopt again.
5. I would only eat junk food if it was not a bad example for my kids.
6. I have a new found affinity for the "mini-muffin", thanks Rebecca.
7. I would rather be hot than cold....which is not working well for me this Spring considering I am always cold......Summer come soon!
Okay, that was not so bad, what did I wait so long for? Now it is on to chores while June is napping.....when I done hopefully a nap for me, I can't resist a nap on a cold afternoon!

A week in review....
Quiet! It is Sunday afternoon and it is quiet at my house.....sigh:) June is napping and Russ took the boys to see "Monsters VS. Aliens". I have decided to use my quiet time blogging, digital scrap booking, and cooking. In honor of the snow we are supposed to get(yes more snow)I decided to make a turkey with all the trimmings....we might as well pretend it is Winter and have a meal filled with comfort food!
Sports are starting to kick it up a notch here. TJ is running track and soccer was supposed to start this week, however, the snow from last week closed the fields. This week he will be practicing indoors. All three of the boys received great report cards this week...we couldn't be happier, they are all doing well in school.
June is keeping me busy....she is a busy, busy, girl. She is enjoying library time more and more each time we go. At the beginning of the class she stays very close to me, but by the end she is dancing in circles to "Ring around the Rosie". This week we will finally get the chance to attend a book swap from a "Moms" group I joined. We have sign up for events, but each time one of the boys has been sick.....I guess I will hope for no snow day tomorrow!
Since my time is limited off to "Photoshop" land for some digital fun! Have a blessed week!

One Nation under God.....
This story touched my heart...it is one of those e-mails that gets passed along. I don't know if it is true or not. However, I firmly believe that our Country is deteriorating because we do not acknoweldge God, our creator.
Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful. They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript: "Since the dawn of creation there has been both good &evil in the hearts of men and women.. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out f or answers. "The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart. "In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent. I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.
Your laws ignore our deepest needs, Your words are empty air. You've stripped away our heritage, You've outlawed simple prayer. Now gunshots fill our classrooms, And precious children die. You seek for answers everywhere, And ask the question "Why?" You regulate restrictive laws, Through legislative creed. And yet you fail to understand, That God is what we need! " Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts. "As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge.. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!" Do what the media did not - - let the nation hear this man's speech.. Please send this out to everyone you can. God Bless

Better late than never....
